2024-2025 Scots' Angels

Olivia Kay Evans

This year's Scots' Angel is a 3-year-old named Olivia Kay Evans.

On October 29th a spunky, full-of-life three-year-old little girl, Olivia, fell critically ill and things progressed rapidly. Olivia has been diagnosed with sepsis, and they haven't yet found a cause for such a serious Infection. Olivia was intubated in the PICU and on ECMO after suffering from several cardiac arrest events. ECMO is Livi’s little heart and lungs outside her body. As her body is to weak to perform the tasks of circulating and oxygenating her blood on its own this machine helps to do the work for her. After a very unstable first couple of days in which we were told she wasn’t expected to survive night one she is fighting strong. While we are holding on to every ounce of hope that our strong baby girl will pull through this, this is going to be a very long journey. She is anticipated to be on ECMO for up to several months. When we accomplish getting off ECMO this will be a huge milestone in her journey but it’s not the end. She will have several surgeries which may include an exploratory abdominal surgery and skin grafting to repair the damage done to her extremities as they suffered from a prolonged loss of oxygen which lead to tissue death. Following surgery she will require extensive rehab and she is going I need her mommy and daddy every step of the way.

Olivia is currently receiving treatment through Randal's Children's Hospital in Portland. Please help us alleviate some of the financial burden on the amazing family. 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to the family through the Scots Angels program at David Douglas .
