This year's Scots' Angel is a 5-month-old named Thalia Mendoza.  Thalia was born at 32 weeks and is currently in Doernbechers NICU. They found she had  tracheoesophageal fistula which is a growth or abnormality in the throat that was preventing her from eating properly and had actually coded numerous times.   Thalia had successful surgery in October but has a long road ahead.  Thalia is currently receiving treatment through Doernbechers Children's Hospital in Portland.
